The 2010-2011 NBA Schedule is out: Games to Watch:

The NBA already released the “important” game schedule a few weeks back. But today us small market and irrelevant team fans get to ‘oooh’ and ‘ahhh’ and cringe at what the rest of the year’s match-ups will look like.

A few highlights that I recommend you watch:

Oct. 27th: LA Clippers vs. Portland - Blake Griffin plays his first real game. pleasedontgethurtpleasedontgethurtpleasedontgethurtpleasedontgethurtpleasedontgethurtpleasedontgethurt.

Oct. 31st: Utah @ OKC - These two teams really love battling. I expect another high scoring game here as both teams should have improved significantly since last season.

In fact, let me just list the 4 times these teams will duke it out: Oct 31,Nov 15, Feb 5, and Mar 23.

Nov. 10th: New York vs. Golden State - I really want to see this new Knicks team play. I probably should single out their Oct. 29th game vs. Boston, but I like this match up for a couple of reasons:

1. Both teams love to play fast paced basketball so I expect a lot of scoring.
2. Last time Amar’e played the Warriors, we saw the greatest facial dunk of all time.
3. And finally, as someone mentioned on twitter a month ago, this New York team is basically what Golden State would have looked like if they traded Amar’e for Curry.

Nov. 13th: Milwaukee vs. Golden State - I want to see Brandon Jennings go for 60. Milwaukee imporoved their overall roster and Golden State only got worse. So yea… 60.

Nov. 26th: Dallas @ San Antonio - This game is always a classic. Although both teams are older and probably no longer title contenders, Dirk and Duncan are NBA MVPs and future Hall of Famers and they guard each other. What else can you ask for?

Dec 2nd: Miami @ Cleveland - The NBA was smart not to put this on TV as LeBron returns to Cleveland. Get ready for a melody of ‘boo’s louder than the vuvuzelas. (I think it’s worth buying NBA League Pass just for this moment.)

Dec 25th: Denver @ OKC - Melo vs. Durant. These two will be fighting all season for first place in their division, second place in the west, a scoring title, a spot on the All-NBA second team, and an All-Star bid. This, in my opinion, will be the best head-to-head match up this season.

Jan 15th: Miami @ Chicago - Joakim probably can’t wait for this game, I wonder what he’s going to say about LeBron and Co this time. Unfortunately, he probably has nothing bad to say about vacationing in South Beach.

Jan. 30th: LA Lakers vs. Boston - A finals rematch. Shaq vs. Kobe. LA vs. Boston. Even my grandma is marking this one down.

Feb. 10th: Boston vs. LA Lakers - Just 10 days after the first game. At least the wounds from the first game will still be fresh.

All Star Weekend Feb 18th through the 21st.

Mar. 3rd: Orlando @ Miami - I could have picked any of the four games these teams play in because all of them will be epic and all of them will have an impact on the top three seeds out of the East. But this on stands out because it is late in the season and can determine home court for one of these teams. To top it off, Orlando follows this game up with Chicago (3/4), Portland (3/7), @Phoenix (3/13), @Lakers (3/14),@ Milwaukee (3/16), and Denver (3/18). All of those teams were playoff teams last year and I don’t expect that to change this year.

Get that League Pass order in because these are games you dont want to miss.

According to his Twitter, new Laker Matt Barnes has been going over the finer points of the triangle offense with his kids. Now, two things came to my mind: one) I bet the Lakers didn’t send Adam Morrison any Power Point presentations or DVDs about the zen of the triangle offense. I think the Lakers just sent Morrison to Venice Beach and hooked him up with Medical Marijuana card and said, “ride those chillwaves on the bench, friendo.”

Perhaps influenced by the start of the new season of “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia,” how will Matt Barnes fit into the Lakers’ version of ‘The Gang’? Last season, Ron Artest seemed like Charlie compared to Kobe Bryant’s Dennis, Gasol’s Mac, and, Derek Fisher/Phil Jackson’s Frank; Artest was the “Wild Card,” but with this upcoming season, will Artest continue to be Charlie or will he move up in the world and become the Mac to Kobe’s Dennis? Will Barnes become the new Charlie or if he fails to perform will the Lakers Nation deem him, Gail the Snail?

Or once again, perhaps, I’m just a little too anxious for the new season to start. Lakers’ training camp starts in five days, apparently.
